In my case, I'll be adding a switch to a fan, so I've got my fan and switch.
Generally, fans will have either two or three wires. Either Black & red, or Black, Red, and Yellow. We're going to cut the positive (+) wire. This wire is generally red:
Once you've cut the wire, you need to solder the two ends onto the two points on the switch. My switch has a handful of points, but only two of them are important. Ask the guys at the electronics store to tell you which points to use:
Almost done! Just heatshrink the points you've soldered to prevent and short circuits from happening:
Now the mod to the wiring is done!
All you need to do now is fit the fan and the switch to wherever you want them in your case. A very simple, very easy, and VERY functional mod, which you can do in less than 20 minutes! You can do this with just about anything. Do it to your LEDs that you wired in the Special Edition 2008 issue of PCFormat! (This Guide) Ettienne Venter (A.K.A DAE_JA_VOO) |
