A few years ago i found a guide somewhere on the internet on how to make remote switches for your optical drive. This gives you the ability to put a switch anywhere you like in your case that will eject your optical drive tray for you. I completely forgot about that little mod and half way through this mod i remembered it and decided to implement that in my case.

After some more crazy wiring:

It worked perfectly. Here i just used an old switch i had for the test:

I then did the other optical drive too, and it worked perfectly too:

Then i needed to find a way to avoid making these extra wire look disgusting and make them look as nice as all the other wires. I then spotted something perfect:

Do you notice the connectors on the left? The ones that we NEVER use? Well, it was time for them to disappear. I cut them out:

That left some space for me to add a 3.5mm female jack so that i could plug some wires in there:

A cable plugged in:

That cable then runs to the front panel of the case and the drive can be ejected there.
